During your personal styling consultation we consider your skin tone, the shape of your face, your hair style and colour, along with understanding your lifestyle and visual needs when helping you to find the perfect pair of frames. We want you to feel happy and confident in your new glasses.

The Process

To get the most of your visit, book in advance and arrive with your up-to-date prescription eye test results and current glasses.

Eye examinations in Scotland are carried out under the NHS and you are entitled to take your prescription to an Optician of your choice.

We offer you an enjoyable and bespoke service to help you find the style, shape and colour that best suits you and your personality. We will ask questions to establish the type of lenses that suit your lifestyle and clearly explain your options.

What about the lenses?

We advise you on the best lenses for your prescription and lifestyle. We partner with Nikon and a UK-owned lens lab to offer you a wide selection of lenses to suit your visual needs and budget.

We don't take you for granted. We value you and appreciate the fact you've chosen to come to us for your eyewear!

As a thank-you, we put together a programme of events throughout the year for you to enjoy. All of these include canapés and drinks.

Customers are welcome to bring a friend or family member.

Once on our mailing list you'll receive newsletters from us letting you know about upcoming events. This could be a fashion show, a drop in session for advice on eye make up for glasses wearers, or a sunglasses event.

At all our get-togethers we invite one of our brand ambassadors to bring along their full collection, so you can see the whole range of a designer you love.

We always offer a goodie bag, that includes discount voucher and a free draw.

Sunglasses

Even if your glasses style is ordinarily classic, with sunglasses you can definitely go bold, but wearable and you don’t have to stick to black or tortoiseshell. One of our favourite ranges is from Barcelona, and many of the styles in this collection are bold in shape and colour, but absolutely wearable!

We’ve also recently started working with a Scottish designer who specialises in petite and chic designs – perfect for our petite clients and those with a higher prescription.

It’s really important to have a pair of sunglasses to wear all year-round, to protect your eyes from harmful UV rays, and we always recommend that you consider sun protection for your eyes.

All our sunglasses can be fitted with tinted and polarised prescription lenses. We always have sunglasses in the boutique, but every spring we hold a sunglasses event to give you the opportunity to view the latest styles.

We work with amazing designers from around the world, who are passionate creators of fabulous optical frames and sunglasses. They source the highest quality materials to produce handcrafted and beautifully engineered designs.

This award-winning South Korean designer was originally a physicist whose true passion always lay in fashion. His focus is now on creating designs to fit with a person’s character.

I first came across Albert I’mStein at Silmo in Paris and I was blown away by his unusual shapes and colour combinations.

I instantly knew I wanted to feature this designer in the boutique, bold and creative, but wearable, styles in high quality materials, for those who want to make an understated statement!

In 1979 when Barbara McReynolds and Gai Gherardi opened a single store in Los Angeles they immediately challenged the norms of eyewear, and more than four decades and hundreds of frame designs later, l.a. Eyeworks continues to do just that.

l.a. Eyeworks are immediately recognised for their bold shapes, imaginative handling of materials, and expressive use of colour. Each of their limited-edition designs begins with a hand-drawn sketch, the first step on a path of meticulous production where the finest materials are shaped by a combination of technology and hand-finished crafting. The result is designs that balance innovation with wearability.

Although l.a. Eyeworks have graced the faces of celebrities, performers, artists, and athletes, for Barbara and Gai, the deeper intention is for you to find a frame that conforms to no fashion sensibility but your own.
