As a qualified Dispensing Optician with over thirty years' experience, Amanda has dispensed thousands of pairs of glasses. She understands which frames suit which face shape and how to perfectly fit them for you. She'll guide you through her in-store collection of over 300 pairs with informed, knowledgeable advice. She's a real people person, so it'll be relaxed, no pressure, and maybe even a lot of fun!
If the style you want isn't in stock, there are thousands more available to order direct from the suppliers, including narrow frames, children's glasses, sunglasses, swimming goggles, sports eyewear, safety spectacles and low vision aids. Just ask Amanda to order it in for you, you're under no obligation.
Many people in Moray know Amanda through her optometry practice, McClintock Home Eyecare. Since 2005, Amanda has been bringing eye care to the housebound, through her domiciliary work. If you or a loved one are unable to leave home unaccompanied because of physical or mental illness or disability, you are entitled to a free NHS eye test at home. Amanda comes to your home or care home, checks your eyes and dispenses glasses directly.
This combination of dispensing and optometry makes Amanda uniquely qualified to understand your specific vision needs and assist you with dispensing the right pair of glasses.
Vision Aid Overseas
For 12 years, Amanda was also an active member of the British charity, Vision Aid Overseas, providing eye care to third-world countries. She was the country manager for Burkina Faso, and led out-reach programmes in this beautiful and remote part of Africa.
The shop has a collection point for old spectacles, which Vision Aid will recycle and send to those in need across the world.
